Meet Eleanore and Randy

Important Update for 2025: After thoughtful consideration, Randy & Eleanore have decided to adjust their offerings to support a better work-life balance. Beginning in 2025, we will be offering either a continental breakfast, left in your fridge the night before for you to enjoy at your convenience, or a reduced rate for guests who prefer a stay without breakfast. This change allows us to continue welcoming guests while making time for our own “retirement” goals. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Aaron’s on the Lake is a dream come true for your hosts Eleanore and Randy McMahon.

It all started when they were backpacking as a young couple through Europe in 1989. Each time they’d stay at a new bed and breakfast, they’d imagine what it would be like to be the owners. They dreamed of buying property in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, but at the ages of 27 and 29 ultimately decided they would have a more secure life in Canada.

Twenty-eight years and three kids later, Eleanore and Randy’s dream of owning a bed and breakfast has come true!

Spending time at Aaron’s was a good decision we made. It was serene and beautiful. Our host, Randy and Eleanore were great and I must say that the breakfasts served were so delicious and perfect. They are lovely couple that value relationships and it was a splendid time spent with them. The room as everything you need to be comfortable and the bed is great. Looking forward to another time to get away.😍

Essential Ceremony Package Upon arrival, the host, Eleanore was there to greet us (with the sweetest dog named Jake) and show us to our room. The room was very cozy, very clean, and very charming! I can imagine that the veranda would be a relaxing space to sit in summer. The next day we had our intimate, essential wedding ceremony beside the lake. It was absolutely perfect simple and sweet! Eleanore did a wonderful job as an officiant and made us feel so comfortable and at ease.
We were able to enjoy the hot tub which was clean and relaxing. We are looking forward to trying out the lakeview room in the summer and enjoying the view of the lake from the lovely gazebo. Randy and Eleanore were amazing hosts and we would 100% recommend staying here and would also recommend the essential wedding package for anyone looking for something simple, sweet, and intimate.

Uplifting and relaxing We LOVED the ambiance of the Lakeside room! The interior design of the room was so cozy and rustic, with its beautiful touches (i.e. beautiful wooden floors, ceilings & panelling, lovely artwork, tasteful antiques & wooden chandelier). The surroundings of the property was breathtaking! We had a gorgeous view of Lake Winnipeg and we could see the sun rise in the morning! We had easy access to the beach which allowed us to take nice long walks on the beach. The choice of amenities available in the room were also of great quality (e.g. the television with lots of options, towels, bathrobes, slippers, flannels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, sheets, blankets, bed & sofa). I also enjoyed using the hot tub at night, when it was 6C outside. The mini croissants and the lovely sign with our names to greet us was also a nice touch. And, to top it off, I really appreciated the hostess's wonderful hospitality and fairness. Our entire experience was uplifting and relaxing at the same time!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming bed and breakfast! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the serene surroundings and the beautiful view — it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The room was cozy, clean, and so peaceful, offering the kind of quiet that’s hard to come by.
Each morning's breakfast was a true highlight, with delicious, freshly made dishes that started our days off perfectly. And the jacuzzi! It was such a treat, offering the ultimate relaxation with the most stunning view.
A huge thank you to our incredible hosts Eleanore and Randy for making my partner's surprise birthday so personal and unforgettable. We were amazed by the decoration and fresh watermelon juice I asked for. Your thoughtful touches made the celebration extra special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Perfect romantic getaway This is the best place for a romantic getaway! The views are amazing, and the calming sounds of the lake are so relaxing. The gazebos and cozy rooms are so atmospheric and unique. But the most important is that the hosts make you feel super welcomed. We were so lucky to find this place for our elopement—it was a dream wedding! Highly recommend!
