Our Story

Important Update for 2025:  After thoughtful consideration, Randy & Eleanore have decided to adjust their offerings to support a better work-life balance.  Beginning in 2025, we will be offering either a breakfast basket, left in your fridge the night before for you to enjoy at your convenience, or a reduced rate for guests who prefer a stay without breakfast.  This change allows us to continue welcoming guests while making time for our own “retirement” goals.  Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Aaron’s on the Lake is a dream come true for your hosts Eleanore and Randy McMahon.

It all started when they were backpacking as a young couple through Europe in 1989. Each time they’d stay at a new bed and breakfast, they’d imagine what it would be like to be the owners. They dreamed of buying property in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, but at the ages of 27 and 29 ultimately decided they would have a more secure life in Canada.

Twenty-eight years and three kids later, Eleanore and Randy’s dream of owning a bed and breakfast has come true!
